Nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, we at Randy’s Hardware have spent decades building a reputation for well-made, long-lasting, curated products for our communities. Now, we are able to bring that inventory to the rest of the world through Shenandoah Mercantile.
One of my earliest memories is my dad giving my very first knife - a black, three-bladed Buck pocket knife - when I was five-years-old. I was so proud of that knife and determined to show him that I was responsible enough to have it. It was a constant companion on our many adventures in the deserts of central Arizona as my dad taught and I learned survival skills. I credit these formative years and experiences as building my love for knives and quality tools.
When I started having a family of my own, I was sure I was going to pass on this same love to them. In my excitement, I gave my children their first knives at only three-years-old, although they weren’t allowed to use them or open them without me being right next to them. My hope was that this early exposure would instill in them the same love I had. Although my plans didn’t pan out, I do have some amazing memories of my kids and me in the woods learning skills with the very tools that I sell here. These are some of my favorite memories that I carry with me every day.
My hope is that you can find tools that will allow you to build these same sorts of memories with your loved ones and do so for decades to come.
